HAYNES & G. PENNICK. (For Private Circulation Only) PUBLISHED BY AIR-BRITAIN The National Association of Aviation Enthusiasts FOUNDED 1948 VOL. 1 NUMBER 7 OCTOBER 1959 Editorial. The last day of September witnessed the final closing of Croydon Airport. Among the last departures of the day were N5593V Catalina, G-APVE Piaggio 166 and believe it or not G-APTS Chipmunk on its first flight after conversion. All that now remains are a few fuselages and wings in various forms of decay. So endeth the Croydon era. We must apologise for an error in the August editorial. The Bleriot XI F-PERV flew from Calais to Lydd on 15/7 and not as previously stated. ----------------- LONDON. 25/8.
